Jeff "Cartwright" Tomsha - Feb. 29, 2008:
Dear Vintage Ballists: I am a librarian at Northville District Library and have arranged for baseball historian/author, Peter Morris, to speak hear about his newest book, "But Didn't We Have Fun?: An Informal History of Baseball's Pioneer ERa, 1843-1870". In this book, Peter uses previously unpublished journals and reminiscences of those who played ball in this era. I have asked some of my teammates from the Eclipse Base Ball Club to portray some of these ballists using dialogue which Peter has put together. Peter will give more details about his findings and will field questions from those attending. He will also have books available for purchase and signing. Could you please pass this email and the attached flier along to your teammates? Thanks, Al "Toes" Smitley Northville District Library Eclipse Base Ball Club of Northville (email chatter@regularsbbc.org if you have something to add to this section.)
